Saraswati Puja, or as it is sometimes called, Basant Panchami (or Shree Panchami)–heralds spring’s arrival. It is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati (the deity of knowledge and language), as well as to the arts. This auspicious day is dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, a Hindu deity of knowledge, language, and music. The spirit and dedication with which the festival celebrates its existence remains the same throughout the country. However, traditions are passed down from different generations to different states. On Saturday, February 5, 2022, Saraswati puja (also known as Basant Panchami) falls. The Muhurat is 5 hours and 28 minutes long, from 07:00 am to 12:35 pm. The Madhyahna moment occurs at 12:35 pm. The Panchami Tithi starts at 03:47 on February 5, and ends at 03:46 on February 6. Hindus from India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Nepal celebrate the festival. It is observed in Indonesia and Bali as Hari Raya Saraswati. There are many traditional celebrations throughout the country. The festival’s highlight is Goddess Saraswati worship. People wear bright yellow shades to show their enthusiasm and pray in the temples near her idols and statues
