Navratri is a nine-day long festival that is highly auspicious and is celebrated all over the nation with great zeal, energy, and enthusiasm by an uncountable number of devotees. It is dedicated and celebrated to worship Maa Durga, who embodies Shakti or Power, Wisdom, and Energy. Navratri is observed twice a year – once in the spring season, known as Chaitra Navratri, and another is observed during the autumn season, called Shardiya or Sharad Navratri. There are Gupt Navratris also.
Shardiya Navratri is a much-awaited and celebrated festival all across the country. Navratri is being celebrated to depict and showcase the symbolic celebration of nine nights of the battle of good against evil and the victory on the tenth day. This festival is celebrated in various ways in different regions of the nation to mark its significance.
Shardiya Navratri Calendar: When is Shardiya Navratri 2022?
This year, the Shardiya Navratri will start on Monday, 26th September 2022, and end on Wednesday, 5th October 2022. On October 3, Monday, there will be Durga Ashtami, and on October 4, Tuesday, Maha Navami will be observed and celebrated. The Ghatasthapna muhurta on 26th September, Monday, the first day of Navratri, is from 6:05 AM to 7:40 AM. The significant dates and days are:
