Chaitra Navratri 2022, also known as Vasanta Navratri is celebrated with great dedication and enthusiasm all across the country. It dedicates to the worship of Goddess Durga, and the nine forms of Goddess are observed during these days. As per the Hindu Calendar, Chaitra Navratri marks the beginning of the New Year and mainly falls in March or April. This year, Chaitra Navratri will be celebrated from 2nd April, Saturday till 10th April 2022, Sunday. Navratri consists of two words – Nav, meaning nine, and Ratri means night. Therefore, the festival is celebrated for nine days. The nine forms of Goddess Durga will be marked as follows: Navratri 1st Day (Maa Shailputri), Navratri 2nd Day (Maa Brahmacharini), Navratri 3rd Day (Maa Chandraghanta), Navratri 4th Day (Maa Kushmanda), Navratri 5th Day (Maa Skandamata), Nvrati 6th Day (Maa Katyayani), Navratri 7th Day (Maa Kalratri), Navratri 8th Day (Maa Mahagauri), and Navratri 9th Day (Maa Siddhidatri). On nine days, people observe fasting and offer prayers to the nine forms of Goddess with great devotion. Kalash was established on the first day of Chaitra Navratri (2nd April 2022), which is considered highly auspicious. The last day of Chaitra Navratri is celebrated as Ram Navami. In different states, it is celebrated with other names. As in Maharashtra, the Navratri’s first day is called Gudi Padwa, and in Kashmir, it is called Navreh.
