The celebration for the Hariyali Teej usually starts in the holy month of Shravan or Savan on Shukla Paksha Tritiya. It is also called Shravani Teej. The word Hariyali mentions to the color green. This festival falls in July or August, as per the English Calendar. This year, Hariyali Teej will be celebrated on 31st July 2022, Sunday. This festival is very special for women. It is believed that they worship Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati to get their blessings and good fortune on this day. It is celebrated by married women for their husband’s good health and long life. Unmarried women celebrate this day to get a good husband.

The Tritiya Tithi starts from 3:00 AM on 31st July 2022, Sunday, and will end at 4:20 AM on 1st August 2022. Monday. On this day, women keep a day-long fast and offer fruits, flowers, and turmeric-coated rice to Mata Parvati to get her blessings and make sure the well-being and safety of their husband. This festival is very significant for women who are married as they pray for their happy married life on this day. Puja is being performed for Lord Bholenath and Goddess Parvati to get their blessings and for one’s happy married life and family’s well-being.

All the married women who observe fast usually dress up in traditional attire in the color green and wear green bangles. Henna or Mehendi is a primary element of this day. Women put henna on their hands, which is considered lucky per the traditions. Sattvic recipes and dishes are prepared on this day. Ghevar, a special sweet from Rajasthan, is highly famous today.
